AT&T expands, upgrades U-verse with GigaPower service in ten cities

AT&T’s U-verse with GigaPower service just launched in parts of San Antonio and New Braunfels, TX; Orlando, FL; as well as  Gary, Hammond, and Crown Point, IN. The company also offering its gigabit service in neighborhoods in Nashville, KY; Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and the Atlanta, GA area. The service can provide Internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second, and is available in a growing number of areas across the country since 2013.


This latest expansion comes after AT&T wired Durham, NC for U-verse with GigaPower service, which is also available in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Carrboro, and Cary, NC, in addition to neighborhoods in San Jose, CA; some suburbs of Chicago, IL.; and Dallas, Austin, and Houston, TX.


AT&Tplans to bring GigaPower fiber to 14 million customer locations, including the 12.5 million itcommitted to as part of the AT&T-DirecTV transaction.
