Colorado joins several other states in the quest to shrink the digital divide

Colorado launched a website to gather public input to measure and map the penetration saturation of high-speed Internet throughout the state. The state government and the non-profit organization and Speed Matters partner, Connected Nation, collaborated to develop the website - www.connectcolorado.org.

The website supplements a mapping project that the state began two years ago - that verifies connection speeds and identifies areas that need access.

Colorado's Chief Information Officer, Michael Locatis, is encouraging residents to use the website to facilitate their efforts and help bring an economic boost to all areas of the state.

Virginia, Minnesota and Ohio are among the other states that have launched similar online endeavors.
