Rural Tennessee church connected by Computers 4 Kids
Students attending the Saint John Baptist Church After-School program were in for quite a surprise recently when twenty new computers were delivered to the church.
Donated by Computers 4 Kids, a program of Speed Matters partner Connected Tennessee, the new computers transformed Saint John Baptist into a hub of connectivity for a community with limited access to broadband technology.
State Representative, John Shaw who serves as the pastor of Saint John Church remarked on the positive effect these new computers will have on the community:
"I am delighted that the Saint John Baptist Church After-School Program was chosen as a recipient of the Computers 4 Kids program," said Shaw. "These computers will help Haywood County's youth to connect to the rest of the world and compete in the technology-driven world that we live in. This charitable donation will enhance and enrich the lives of the children in this community for many years to come."
To date, Computers 4 Kids has distributed nearly 2,000 computers to children, families and organizations in need across Tennessee.
