FCC Releases Open Internet Rules
On February 26, the FCC voted 3-2 to adopt Open Internet rules which, among other things, reclassified retail broadband service – whether from cable, phone or wireless – to be a telecommunications service under Title II.
This week, the commission released the full 400 page Report And Order. You can read the Order here, or refer back to the summarizing media release of February 26 here.
The FCC will publish the rules in Federal Register, and the Order will become effective 60 days after that. That’s when the legal challenges will begin.
