Net neutrality doomsday unlikely, says Netflix
The giant video streaming company, Netflix, is taking a wait and see attitude in the aftermath of the DC appeals court's net neutrality decision.
In a letter to investors, the company believes that "the most likely case... is that ISPs will avoid [the] consumer-unfriendly path of discrimination [by limiting video streaming]. ISPs are generally aware of the broad public support for net neutrality and don’t want to galvanize government action.”
Netflix added: "To the degree that ISPs adhere to a meaningful voluntary code of conduct, less regulation is warranted. To the degree that some aggressive ISPs start impeding data flows, more regulation would clearly be needed."
Speed Matters supports net neutrality.
