This Net's Not My Net

This comes to us from Laura Unger, president of CWA Local 1150 in New York.

To the tune of: Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land"

This net's not my net.
It isn't your net.,
If you don't log off,
They'll cut your blog off
This "pipe" is loaded,
It just expoded
This net's not made for me and you.

This dial up network
Is slowly churning.
I sit and wait
My anger burning.
I need it faster,
It's a disaster.
This net's not made for me and you.

My cable network
Seems pretty speedy
But monthly bills
Have left me needy.
A five year contract
No way to extract,
This net's not made for me and you.

It's not a luxury.
It's a necessity.
We should be fed up
With this lousy set up.
Build-out and more speed
Is what we all need
This net belongs to you and me.
