ACI study finds network operators create more, better paying jobs
The American Consumer Institute Center for Citizen Reasarch (ACI) released a study that looked into broadband's effect on job creation.
According to the study, titled "The Internet Ecosystem: Employment Impacts of National Broadband Policy", "network" companies, such as AT&T and Verizon - produce more, better paying jobs than non-network companies like Google and eBay. It found that for every $1 billion in revenue, network companies provided 2,329 jobs while non-network companies provided 1,199 jobs. In addition, network companies invest a much higher percentage of cash flow back into the economy.
ACI's study is the second this year that found that broadband growth results in new job creation.
