AT&T finishes 1Gbps build-out in Austin
At the end of 2013, Speed Matters wrote, AT&T promised to double, by the end of 2014, the number of homes that could access its U-Verse with GigaPower with 1Gbps. It beat the deadline by three months. There is now access in “tens of thousands of additional homes and small businesses in Austin and surrounding communities.”
In addition, the company has announced plans to bring the service to 27 cities in 11 markets.
