Dallas, Waco, and Atlanta will be AT&T’s first 5G cities

Dallas, Waco, and Atlanta will be AT&T’s first 5G cities, the company announced. AT&T previously announced that it would roll out its next generation wireless service to a dozen cities by the end of 2018, but location details were limited.

"5G will change the way we live, work and enjoy entertainment," said Melissa Arnoldi, president of  AT&T technology and operations, earlier this year. "We're moving quickly to begin deploying mobile 5G this year and start unlocking the future of connectivity for consumers and businesses. With faster speeds and ultra-low latency, 5G will ultimately deliver and enhance experiences like virtual reality, future driverless cars, immersive 4K video and more."

In addition, Joan Marsh, executive vice president of regulatory & state external affairs, recently noted in a blog post three additional cities “leaning with [AT&T] into the next generation of technologies.” Indianapolis, Minneapolis, and Little Rock are all places where AT&T has begun to introduce its next generation 5G wireless technology.
