David Freiboth: If T-Mobile wants to do business in the U.S. they should bring jobs home

In a guest column in the Seattle Times, David Freiboth, executive secretary of the Martin Luther King County Labor Council, AFL-CIO, highlights T-Mobile's hypocrisy in taking millions of dollars in tax subsidies, and then abandoning the very communities that helped breathe economic life into its business.

Freiboth notes that T-Mobile has an opportunity to halt scheduled June layoffs in seven communities by bringing home the more than 6,000 jobs that the company has shipped overseas. Committing to good jobs at home and showing respect for worker's rights, Freiboth argues, would go a long way to engender goodwill towards the company.

If the company is serious about expanding its U.S. business, Freiboth says T-Mobile needs to commit to keeping jobs in the communities that have supported T-Mobile with tax subsidies and provid it with a customer base.
