D.C. Court of Appeals Dismisses Net Neutrality Challenge, For Now
A challenge to the FCC's net neutrality regulations by two telecommunications companies has been thrown out of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia as premature.
Verizon Communications Inc. and MetroPCS Communications claimed that the FCC did not have the authority to impose net neutrality rules under the Telecommunications Act of 1996. The appeals were thrown out when the court found the companies' lawsuits premature, as the rules in question hadn't yet been published in the Federal Register. Both Verizon and MetroPCS are expected to refile.
