FCC approves Verizon’s acquisition of XO Communications
The FCC approved Verizon’s $1.8 billion acquisition of XO Communications, a deal that will expand Verizon’s fiber network in 40 major US markets and increase its 5G-capable wireless spectrum. With the Commission’s approval, Verizon clears a major regulatory hurdle, but the acquisition still needs the green light from some state regulators.
