FCC’s 3.45 GHz spectrum auction raises $21.8 billion
The FCC’s 3.45 GHz spectrum auction closed after raising more than $21.8 billion for the US treasury. The winners can use the 3.45 GHz mid-band spectrum for fixed or mobile wireless services. The FCC will announce the winners at a later date, but analysts expect AT&T to be the biggest bidder.
This is the third biggest spectrum auction managed by the FCC. The C-band auction raised a record $81 billion earlier this year, and the 2015 AWS-3 auction raised $44 billion.
