Netflix was the most popular video platform of 2018
Netflix was the most popular platform for watching television in 2018 – beating out traditional pay-TV subscriptions, broadcast television, Hulu, and YouTube, according to a survey of consumers by a Wall Street firm. In a survey of 2,500 US adults, 27 percent said Netflix was the platform they use “most often to view video content on TV.” Pay-TV came in second with 20 percent, broadcast in third with 18 percent, and YouTube in fourth at 11 percent. Netflix currently has 139 million subscribers who stream approximately 100 million hours of content, or 10 percent of all TV viewership a day.
