Parents can help their children by learning technology
Parents who have access to broadband technology and the skills to use it can better engage with their children's education, according to a report by the Children's Partnership.
The issue brief, "Empowering Parents Through Technology," presents a roadmap for empowering more parents to become involved with their children's education through technology. According to the report:
Computers and broadband are becoming essential tools to help parents engage in their children's education which can improve their academic achievement and lives.
The digital divide disproportionately affects children in low-income areas, causing their education to suffer and preventing them from becoming a part of the evolving digital world.
