Windstream launches gigabit service in four new markets
Windstream is launching its gigabit service in four new markets: Lincoln, NE; Lexington, KY; Sugarland, TX; and seven communities in North Carolina. The launch will serve about 35,000 residential and small business customers in those markets.
Windstream began testing its 1 Gbps service in Lexington, KY in December 2015, but is not the only telecommunications company expanding its gigabit service. AT&T recently announced that it’s bringing its GigaPower service to 38 more metro areas and Fairpoint recently launched its service in Portsmouth, NH.
