One Economy launches We Are Now Connected
One Economy, along with the Broadband Opportunity Coalition (BBOC), launched a new campaign called: We Are Now Connected. The goal of the initiative is to "expand digital literacy and broadband initiatives on an unprecedented scale — ensuring high-speed Internet access in underserved communities, increasing online content and Internet relevancy, and empowering low-income individuals across the United States."
Using Public Service Announcements (PSAs), One Economy and the BBOC will promote awareness of broadband adoption. The PSAs will target low-income families and minorities, in communities across 31 states and the District of Columbia.
Broadband adoption is much lower for low-income families and minorities. We Are Now Connected is a necessary campaign that is taking the steps toward universal broadband adoption.
One Economy, is a global non-profit and partner of Speed Matters, that uses unique approaches for delivering the power of technology and information to undeserved communities. Funding for the campaign comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
