Taking the Message to Congress

Average download speed by zip code for Colorado.  CWA Members are sharing maps like these, which are based on Speed Test results, with their elected officials.

Earlier today Colorado Congresswoman Diana Degette welcomed a delegation of CWA members to her district office to talk about the need for high-speed Internet and CWA's Speed Matters campaign.

Members of Congress have been home this week for their Memorial Day work period, and CWA members across the country have been busy talking to their Representatives and Senators about the importance of high-speed Internet, sharing state-specific results of our online speed test, and building support for the Broadband Data Improvement Act.

CWA Staff Representative Jana Smith-Carr attended the meeting along with Tony Mulligan, Adminstrative Officer CWA Local 37074, Suzie Miller, President CWA Local 7777, Tom Costello, President CWA Local 7717.  Jana reports:

Congresswoman Degette was friendly and understood the issues surrounding the current dismal state of high-speed Internet access in the United States.  She committed to working with CWA in the future on our campaign.  We thank her for her time and commitment to working families.

As other reports roll in from around the country we will share them with you.
