Only 38% of US school districts support broadband speed of 1-Mbps-per-student

Only 38% of districts in the US can support broadband speed of 1-Mbps-per-student, according to a new report from the nonprofit EducationSuperhighway. The Federal Communications Commission raised the standard from 100 kbps-per-student to 1-Mbps-per-student in 2018. Upgrading the school districts to the 1-Mbps-per-student is not challenging as 99% of schools are fiber-connected.
