Disney to buy most of 21st Century Fox for $66 billion
Disney announced plans to buy most of 21st Century Fox – a massive media and entertainment company owned by right-wing billionaire Rupert Murdoch – for $66 billion, including more than $13 billion in debt. According to a joint announcement, the deal includes 21st Century Fox’s film and television studios, cable networks and international TV businesses, as well as popular entertainment properties and a stake in Hulu. 21st Century Fox will spin-off Fox Broadcasting, which includes its broadcasting stations, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network and others.
