Altice to build fiber to 1 million homes by 2018

Altice, which bought Cablevision for $18 billion in 2015, will build fiber to one million homes by 2018, the company said in the press release. Construction to meet the goal has already begun in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. This announcement is the latest challenge to Verizon’s FiOS network in the area, after Altice announced last year that it would deliver 10 gigabit, fiber-to-the-premises connections in 20 states over the next five years.
