FCC?s O'Rielly calls for strict build-out regs
The newest Republican FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly aired his views on build-out requirements at a luncheon interview during the Free State Foundation’s Sixth Annual Telecom Policy Conference in Washington.
O’Rielly doesn’t want to constrain bidders for wireless licenses. Instead, he said that the FCC should adopt some build-out regulations. “The solution is not spectrum caps,” he said. “The solution is strict build-out requirements and a willingness to yank licenses if necessary.”
