FCC Releases NPRM on Modernizing the E-rate Program for Schools and Libraries

The FCC just released its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to initiate a thorough review and update of the E-rate program, which provides subsidies to schools and libraries for telecommunications services.

The FCC seeks public comment, due Oct. 16, on ways to comprehensively modernize E-rate, including upgrading broadband capacity.
