AT&T gigabit service reaches 15 NC communities

AT&T’s 1 Gbps service in North Carolina has expanded to include 15 communities in five major cities. Residents in nearly 20,000 apartments across the state now have the GigaPower service after AT&T invested more than $1.6 billion in its wireline and wireless networks in the state. In addition, AT&T provides free Internet to low-income residents in several affordable housing complexes and gigabit service to ten community centers. Both services are a result of the North Carolina Next Generation Network, a public-private partnership between AT&T and the North Carolina communities.
