Minnesota CWA State Council President appointed to high speed Internet task force
Making good on legislation to advance high speed Internet across the state of Minnesota, Governor Tim Pawlenty appointed Tim Lovaasen, president of the Minnesota CWA State Council, to the High-Speed Broadband Task Force.
Lovaasen will represent the CWA's interests on the task force and work with twenty five other members. Their goal is to generate recommendations to the governor and the legislature on how to design and implement a statewide high speed Internet plan for Minnesota.
State Representative Sandra Masin, the sponsor of the original legislation creating the task force, has praised the initiative:
"This task force is a good step towards making sure every part of the state has an equal opportunity to take advantage of new technology."
Minnesota is moving in the right direction on this critical issue, and we at CWA are certain Tim Lovaasen will be a tremendous asset on the state task force.
