More than a third of North American Internet traffic is on Netflix
Netflix now accounts for more than one-third of all Internet traffic in North America. According to a new study from Sandvine, traffic to the online streaming company has declined in the past year, but still accounts for 35 percent of traffic on fixed-line networks across North America.
After Netflix, YouTube ranked #2 in downstream data (18 percent), followed by Amazon Video (4 percent). Hulu accounts for only 3 percent of downstream video traffic in North America. See the chart for more details:
