Most businesses don’t meet the FCC’s new broadband definition
Less than one-third – 28 percent – of businesses meet the FCC’s current broadband definition of 25 Mbps download, according to a study by Strategic Network Group (SNG). Relying on more than 4,500 business respondents, SNG found that 41 percent of businesses don’t even meet the old broadband definition of 10 Mbps. What’s more, almost half (48 percent) of businesses don’t meet the FCC’s broadband upload speeds, a significant contributor to a business’ development.
The study is an important reminder that, as the modern economy continues to move online, high-speed Internet is essential for economic growth and competitiveness.
