Netflix viewers now equal to traditional TV viewers
According to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the number of American households who subscriber to traditional TV service is now equal to the number of Netflix subscribers. According to the report, 73 percent of the respondents said they subscribe to traditional TV service and 73 percent said they subscribe to Netflix – meaning many respondents likely use both.
The PWC report demonstrates that over-the-top streaming services are gaining in popularity, and as a result consume more Internet data. As of June 2016, Netflix accounts for one-third of all Internet traffic.
